Admissions Policy

The Infant Jesus Academy offers equal opportunities to ALL children who demonstrate enthusiasm, curiosity and a love of learning. These opportunities are offered regardless of the child’s origin or religion.

School-environment

To be admitted into Year 7 (JSS1), a child must:

  • Be at least 10 years old by the September of the year of admission
  • Through their parent(s) or carer(s), have submitted a fully completed admission form
  • Sit the entrance examination and undergo a brief oral interview

Parents and carers wishing their child(ren) to enter Years 8, 9 or 10 must also complete the relevant admission form and ensure the appropriate examination has been completed.

All applications for admission should be accompanied by the submission of:

  • Two passport photographs
  • A photocopy and original copy of academic results from the immediate past class or academic year
  • A birth certificate (affidavits are NOT accepted)

Parents and carers seeking admission for a child who is living outside of Nigeria should advise the current school of their intention to have their child sit the IJA entrance examination. The school should also be asked for their support in administering the examination there.

If the school agrees, then we will email our entrance examination to them and will ask that they send the completed examination papers back to us for marking and follow-up.

Admissions Procedure

For entry into Infant Jesus Academy; prospective learners are expected to satisfy the school’s entry criteria in line with the school’s admission policy. Admission is strictly by merit without bias to religion, ethnic or cultural background.

Applicants must be 10 years of age by September of the year of application.

The procedure is as follows:

Obtain application forms and prospectus from designated sales centres with a non-refundable application fee of N7,000 or Apply Online.

Complete and submit forms, along with all necessary documents, which shall include:

  • Medical Certificate/Immunization record
  • Birth Certificate
  • Last School report (Previous term) and transfer certificate where applicable
  • Receipt of payment for admission form

Originals of the above stated documents will be required for sighting

A challenging examination is taken in English and Mathematics.

An interview is conducted for successful candidates and their parents.

A letter of offer of admission is given and upon fulfilment of all conditions, admission is confirmed.

The admission is secured within two weeks once it is offered. This is done by paying the non-refundable acceptance deposit of N50, 000 which is also part of the school fee.

Bank Transfer Details
